2012 Florida Alligator Harvest

Explore the thrill and skill of “Florida Statewide Alligator Hunt” with Camp David Hunt Club.   The season runs from August 15th through       November 1st with a limited number of tags awarded for each phase and location. 

2012 Florida Alligator Harvest Fees

Full packages include professional guide, airboat transportation, applicable harvest tags, equipment usage, and transfer of alligator to the processing facility.

• “1 on 1” Package ($1500 per hunter)  offersa one night hunt opportunity with the personalized focus of one guide to one hunter in pursuit of one alligator.

• “2 For 2” Package ($1200 per hunter)offers a one night hunt opportunity for a party of two (2) persons in pursuit of one alligator per hunter.

• “3 Pack” Package ($1000 per hunter)offers a one night hunt opportunity for a party of three (3) persons in pursuit of one alligator per hunter

• $275 deposit/hunter/night reserves priority of claim on available tags and available dates. Deposit does not guarantee availability of tag or specific dates. The deposit is refundable in the event of insufficient permit award or the inability to establish a desirable hunt date.

• $52.00 Alligator Trapping Agent License is required for all resident and non-resident hunters who utilize tags in the name of a Camp David Hunt Club guide. It can be obtained by phone or over the internet right up to the time of the hunt. Camp David Hunt Club will gladly assist clients with the purchase arrangement for the trapping agent license.

• $200 trophy fee is assessed for alligators over 9 feet.

• $250/person/night non-participating rider fee is assessed for all non-hunters up to airboat capacity. Non-participating riders must be 16 years of age or older.

• Reduced rates apply for additional nights and are subject to availability. Advanced booking is advised if consecutive dates desired.  See chart below for fees.

• $500 additional alligator tag is subject to availability and is typically limited to the last phases of the season

• Meat Processing Fees It is the desire of Camp David Hunt Club that all participants are aware of any fees associated with the taking of an alligator.  Camp David Hunt Club will deliver your alligator to a licensed processor and will coordinate the arrangements for returning meat, head, and hide.

                        Processing Includes:

·         meat (cubed, packed and vacuum sealed in 2.5lb packages by USDA licensed facility)

·         hide (defatted, scraped, salted, and rolled)

·         head (ready for shipment or transfer to taxidermist)

Complete processing of hide and head usually takes 2 - 3 days from delivery receipt at the processor. For hunters’ convenience, Camp David Hunt Club keeps a quantity of frozen packaged alligator meat on hand for ready transportation.

• Trophy hide and head processing can vary based on the preference and quality of the selected craftsman.  Please feel free to call and discuss the various options for your harvested alligator to gain an understanding of the costs associated with trophy processing.  You are welcome to use your own craftsman/taxidermist and Camp David Hunt Club will coordinate shipping.

•  Shipping and Handling applies for meat, hides, heads, and any finished goods.  These costs can be substantial based on the method of shipment desired.  Many items must be shipped in dry ice to prevent spoilage.  Please call if you require estimates on shipping.

 

All trophy fees and additional tags will be collected at the conclusion of hunt.  Processing, taxidermy, and shipping fees are not included in the hunt fees and are due prior to shipment. 

Camp David Hunt Club Guarantee

If you don’t have an opportunity at an alligator - your hunt fee will be refunded minus your deposit. This is not a guarantee of a Trophy alligator. This is a guarantee that you will see alligators and have an opportunity to harvest. Hunters desiring trophy alligators may want to consider advance booking of additional nights to ensure the availability of consecutive dates.
